Grant Criteria

The following criteria are used in evaluating the grant proposals:

1. Project furthers the mission of Amigos de las Américas in Latin America.

2. Community beneficiaries were involved in the process of identifying and designing the project. 

3. Project is directed toward an entire community or a community group (e.g. school, youth group, etc.) instead of individuals or individual families.

4. Project is actively supported by community members, local governments, local nonprofit agencies, or AMIGOS partner agencies.

5. Project proposal is endorsed by the AMIGOS Latin American Programs Director.

6. Project utilizes local resources and assets to the best extent possible and has been designed to be sustainable within the community.

7. Grant project is an opportunity that goes above and beyond what AMIGOS would normally implement in a project area during the summer.
