Latin American Grant Program
The Foundation strives to help AMIGOS reach a new level of success and
to provide opportunities for Volunteers and host communities to pioneer
new initiatives. During each AMIGOS summer, the Foundation supports
numerous innovative projects throughout the Americas through its Latin
American Grant Program. Since 2004, the Foundation has supported
the completion of over 90 community projects ranging from sport fields
to community centers to microenterprises.
An endowment fund, named after the founder of AMIGOS, helps support the grants, which are now known as Bevil Grants. Guy Bevil, the founder and first Executive Director of AMIGOS, died in 2006. In honor of his work with AMIGOS, the Foundation established the Guy Bevil Leadership Fund to support its summer grant program.
Thanks to the ingenuity and collaboration between community members
and AMIGOS participants, these projects will make a lasting and
sustainable difference in the lives of the beneficiaries as they honor
the visionary founder of AMIGOS.
