The objectives of the Foundation for Amigos de las Américas include
the following:
To provide a
strong foundation corpus, the income from which can be used to
support a wide variety of AMIGOS initiatives, including project
grants, new chapter development, staff and volunteer scholarships,
support of specific AMIGOS international initiatives and potential
project support to partner agencies - our long-term objective is
to build a corpus of at least $10 million by the 50th AMIGOS
anniversary in 2014.
To help the
AMIGOS program remain innovative and responsive to the evolving
needs of our friends across the Americas.
To provide the
Project Staff and Volunteers
the opportunity to learn from making and reviewing Foundation
grant proposals.
To provide
another way in which AMIGOS alumni, families and friends can be
supportive of the organization and remain connected with one
another.
To provide a
separate, secure and professionally managed entity designed
especially to attract significant long-term gifts.
